Born and raised in New York City, Barry Silver is an authorized Ashtanga Yoga teacher,
artist and graphic designer. He worked as a scenic design carpenter for The Metropolitan
Opera at Lincoln Center and studied acting in New York , where he performed in Off-Broadway
shows and performance art productions.

In 1996, after enjoying too many years of nightlife he dove into the study of yoga and meditation.
This prompted many trips to India and a career in teaching yoga. The influence of these trips
is evident in his work, which incorporates a significant amount of  Eastern Gods and found objects
from India. Another major influence on his life and art were the 7 years he lived, worked and taught
in Tokyo Japan from
2007-2014.

In 2009 he started GBSK a line of T-shirts and other accessories adorned with his original designs. His art
has been exhibited in New York and Tokyo. His shirts can be seen all around the world. He is currently
based in his hometown of Brooklyn, N.Y.
